George's Universe v6

These are various chunks of ColdFusion code that I've written for different purposes. These pages are part of George's Universe, but will open in a new window. >> generateKey() Function: - This function will generate a Security Key for form submissions on a web site.

>> getFraction() Function: - This function will take input from a decimal and return a fraction string, i.e. 3.25 will return 3 1/4.

>> EncodedEmail() Function: - This function will output a JavaScript email address that can't be harvested by SPAM Bots.

>> getImageSize() Function: - This function will return information about an image passed to it depending on the arguments passed.

>> ListCompare() Function: - This function will compare two lists and return True if the lists share any value in common.

>> roundTo() Function: - This function will round a number to a specified number of decimal places. It can also round up or down as specified.

>> JustNumbers() Function: - This function will take input from a string and return only numbers. It is useful for getting just the digits from a phone number or removing any units from a number.

>> DumpVar() Function: - This function will allow you to use the CFDUMP command from within CFSCRIPT.

>> fileDump() Function: - This function will allow you to use the CFDUMP command to write the contents of a variable to a file. This is useful for capturing the value of a variable from within a page that gets redirected or for error tracking within a <CFTRY> block.

>> ReplaceMSChars() Function: - Microsoft Office likes to replace certain characters with others for better readability with it's AutoCorrect and AutoFormat features. This function returns the original characters to a string. This is useful for updating data that has been entered from Word or Excel.

>> AbleCommerce Related Functions: - This page contains a selection of ColdFusion custom functions (user defined functions or UDFs) that I wrote specifically for AbleCommerce.

>> AbleCommerce 5.5 API (JavaDocs) Tutorial: - This provides a quick overview of how to use the AbleCommerce 5.5 CFMX API (JavaDocs) to aid in the development of AbleCommerce sites.
