Well, we've done it. We bought a new house. It's a beautiful two story in DeKalb. It needs a little work, but nothing major and it'll make us feel like it's our house, not someone else's that we just moved into. Anyway, there's pictures of it at the Read More link.

Julie and I sold our house tonight! Actually, there's just a contract on it, but unless something extraordinary happens everything should go through. We were pleasantly surprised. We had the offer 36 hours after the house went on the market and it was for $5000 more than our asking price. The people loved the house and didn't want to take a chance of not getting it. Our house went on the market this morning. We're going to be sad to be leaving, but I think it's for the best. We love the house and wish we could take it with us to Sycamore. Anyway, there was an ad in the Daily Southtown today. Get to it here: Southtown Ad

Well, we've been working on the house non-stop getting it ready to sell. One lesson we've learned is to do all the easy cosmetic fixes right away when we get the new house. We've really worked our butts off these past few weeks and the house is finally looking nice. Unfortunately all the work isn't going to be for us. We've now got a nice, freshly painted living room, dining room, hallway and bathroom. The living room and dining room have beautiful wood floors that were underneath the rugs. We've wallpapered the stairwell , painted the stairs, and added a new drop ceiling and light fixtures to the upstairs, pine knot room, and porch. I've varnished new baseboards for the kitchen and hallway, and have to put a fresh coat of paint on the porch. We should be ready to put the house up for sale on Sunday or Monday and are feeling very sad to have to leave it.

On a brighter note however... In the past few weeks I've had three web sites that I've worked hard on go live. The new Web 2 Market site is live, along with the Mail Order Manager / AbleCommerce Modules site. And the Territorial Seed site, which I've been working on since December, went live on the 13th. I've also been working on the new site for Big Dees, including an e-mail marketing application and a site for Obrycki's Crab House, including a gift certificate plugin for AbleCommerce. Things have been busy and interesting at work.
