Moxie Bottom – A Brief History The story of Moxie Bottom begins back in 1855 when Otto Brummagem, a young artist, slightly ahead of his time, was on one of his habitual trips into the wild American West.

You see, Brummagem was a wildlife photographer. Or at least he wanted to be. The problem was that technology had not yet caught up with Brummagem’s ambitions. Brummagem’s used the standard equipment of his day to create Daguerreotypes of animals he came across on his long journeys through the American frontier. But unlike human subjects, landscapes, and architecture, the local fauna was uncooperative when it came to posing for the thirty seconds or so required for a clear picture. Needless to say, Brummagem produced numerous blurred images.

While Otto Brummagem enjoyed his romps into the untamed wilderness, his hobby was quickly becoming expensive and nobody wanted to purchase a picture of a buffalo. Or was that a raccoon.
