| When we moved in to our new house we thought the kitchen was painted in all natural tones. Little did we know that the warm tones were actually nicotine stains. The green and tan window treatments were supposed to be blue and white and the tan walls were supposed to be white. Needless to say the entire kitchen needed a lot of work. We couldn't afford to rip out all the cabinets and put new ones in and the nicotine had saturated the wood. So we decided to sand off the nicotine saturated varnish, cover the cabinets in several coats of Killz oil based primer and then several more coats of Benjamin Moore Impervo paint. We also added new granite counter tops, painted the walls, and made a few more improvements. A year later I finally put the finishing touches on everything and the improvement is amazing. Looking back at the original pictures I can't believe this is the same kitchen. |
